Bento Box

Most of us eat lunch away from home most of the time and are looking for simple to prepare and easy to eat meal options! Bento boxes are the best—especially if you want to do a Whole30 without cooking—and the options are endless! Here is the stainless steel bento box from the picture above.

You may be tempted to fill your bento with lots of fruit or veggies and dip, but this is not a complete meal and will not sustain you! You’ll be hungry a couple of hours later. Instead, make sure your bento box includes a vegetable and a protein, plus carbs or healthy fats to ensure it is a complete meal and won’t leave you scrounging for a compliant snack by mid-afternoon.

Here are some ideas for bento box items:

  • Hard boiled eggs sprinkled with a little salt and paprika

  • Butcherbox bacon

  • Compliant turkey, such as Applegate

  • Apple slices

  • Almond butter (I put nut butters and sauces in a cupcake liner for easy cleanup)

  • Carrot sticks

  • Cucumber slices

  • Sir Kensington’s ranch dressing

  • Olives

  • Chopped up Chomps sticks

  • Cubed roasted sweet potatoes

  • Sliced peppers

  • Grape tomatoes

  • Cashews

  • Guacamole

  • Egg muffin

Get creative and enjoy!
